So we visited the gallery on Tuesday (23.4. 2013).
The author of the exhibited art was Mária Čorejová. When we visited the exhibition, we had a tour of the works and we discussed some of the main ideas in the exhibition such as reasons why this art was made, what was the author trying to show and what should we think about. We could see mainly ink drawings by Maria herself, but there were also pieces of art by another artists, for example some pottery, animations and one painting.
In the end of the tour, we could choose a copy of one of Maria's works and develop it ourselves. In my group we wanted to add some colours, because the whole exhibition made us feel a little depressed and maybe even scared because of the wierd sounds they were playing in the background and some even dared to call it music.... But that's just my opinion. Anyway, when we were supposed to 'edit' the copies of Maria's art, we realized we didn't have any coulour markers or crayons or pastels, so we just took the black marker and devided the picture into many little pieces. In every little piece, we wrote a name of one colour and drew a little symbol of the colour, for example candy cane in the pink space or a unicorn in the purple one or grass in the green one.
I think the exhibition was interesting because the art we could see made us think. Although I didn't like it very much because it was quite creepy for me, I could imagine what Maria wanted to tell us by making a piece of art like that.
